This is an official workshop on July 7th 2026 of the LatinX in AI (LXAI) organization at ICML. The event will take place at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center
The workshop is a one-day event with invited speakers, oral presentations, and posters. The event brings together faculty, graduate students, research scientists, and engineers for an opportunity to connect and exchange ideas. There will be a panel discussion and a mentoring session to discuss current research trends and career choices in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
While all presenters will identify primarily as LatinX, everyone is invited to attend.

Call For Papers
LXAI will receive papers in any subject accepted by ICML. At least one of the authors must identify as LatinX. Submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed (that is, make sure to not reveal your names, institutions, or country anywhere in the document) and should be submitted as a PDF file through OpenReview. All submissions must be in English and strictly follow the format provided by the ICML 2025. Papers using any other format will be desk rejected without review. You can submit your paper to one of two categories:
Extended Abstract: Up to 4 pages, excluding references.
Full Paper: Up to 8 pages long, excluding references. (papers with less than 6 pages might be rejected without review or automatically delegated to the extended abstract category).
The number of pages above includes space taken by figures, tables, and equations. At the authors' discretion.

Accepted papers will be invited to be included in the Journal of LatinX in AI Research (JLXAIR). Authors of accepted papers may choose between two options:
Archival: The paper will be permanently published in JLXAIR and included in its official records.
Non-archival: The paper will be presented at the LXAI event but not included in the journal’s permanent archive, allowing authors to submit it elsewhere in the future

Papers accepted to any official ICML track that have at least one author identifying as LatinX are warmly invited to join the workshop. To streamline the process, we offer direct acceptance for these works:
Automatic Approval: If your paper was accepted to a main ICML track, it is guaranteed a spot at this workshop.
Submission Process: When submitting via OpenReview, please select the specific label/tag designated for "Main Track Accepted Papers."
Verification: You will be asked to provide proof of acceptance (such as your official notification) during the submission process.

The Role of a Reviewer As a reviewer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and relevance of our submissions. By providing valuable, constructive feedback to authors, you directly help shape the content of our workshop and mentor emerging researchers. We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic about fostering diversity in AI and committed to advancing the state of the art through rigorous scholarly communication.
